Workbook for Young Map Readers, Series I was developed out of the need to fill the void for a text that would enable the Grades 7 and 8 students to develop their map work skills.

At the High Schools level, the are no available workbooks in Jamaica, at this time, that comprehensively follow the geography syllabus at the lower level. Given the fact that Geography is a natural science, labs or practical work must form a significant component of the material to be reinforced.

This workbook provides that avenue for young geographers to practice the concepts which they have been taught. The book is simple in word usage, but the technical terms are not sacrificed. There are numerous exercises in each section, thus ensuring that the principles, procedures and skills are stamped into the young map readers brain.
