Let’s Learn Language Arts (Revised Edition) is a complete and integrated series of instructional materials for the teaching of Standard English from the infant level to the upper primary level. The series fulfils the requirements of the Language Arts curriculum implemented by the Ministry of Education. The textbooks are organised into units. These units are arranged according to increasing difficulty and sophistication and centre around themes pupils can relate to. Each unit is divided into sections. The sections are:

Let’s Learn Language Arts (Revised Edition) teaches the four skills in English language learning – listening, speaking, reading and writing – in an integrated and communicative manner. Although eachsection concentrates on a particular skill, the other three skills are also interwoven into that section so that
pupils have the opportunity to use all the skills.

Let’s Learn Language Arts (Revised Edition) provides pupils with a wide range of texts to help them learn Standard English. Pupils are expected to listen to, read and respond to the different texts. The texts in this series include fiction, personal recounts, instructions, reports and letters. As pupils are at the centre of the learning process, the activities are designed to make the learning of the
English language meaningful and enjoyable as well as to provide for different learning abilities. These activities also encourage active participation and interaction for effective learning. Pupils are encouraged to participate in pair work and group work during listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.

Listening scripts are at Appendix 1. They are intended for the teacher who will read them to the class. The pupils will listen and answer the questions based on what they have heard.
